Bethany's Foundation was created in 1989 to develop financial support for
Bethany of the Northwest and increase understanding of Bethany's unique
care-giving role in the community.
Financial support through BNW Foundation can be provided in a variety of
ways, according to the needs of individual donors. Gifts are used for
general support, or may be designated for use in a specific program. Members of
the Foundation staff are glad to talk with donors about areas of need and their
interests.

About Elder Fair
Elder Fair
began 14 years ago as the idea of two
Bethany
staff. These inspired and
dedicated employees shared their idea to conduct a free “senior information
fair” in a setting appropriate for displays and conversation, with others in
the community who provide services to seniors.
Together these collaborating partners held the first Elder Fair in
1994. Community interest was so
great that they determined to continue the next year… and the next… and the
next, until it has become a much anticipated annual event.
The intent of Elder Fair is to inform the senior citizens of Snohomish County and surrounding areas, and their
families, about services that are readily available to them.
In 2005 Elder
Fair moved to the Everett Events Center
in order to better accommodate an increased number of service agencies and a
growing number of attending seniors and their families/caregivers.
Last year (2006), 897 seniors, care-givers, baby-boomers, and other
information-seekers attended Elder Fair getting answers to questions and
information from a full house of 83 agencies, filling every one of our 99
display tables/spaces. Who are
they? Senior centers – furniture
stores – nursing homes – assisted living facilities – home health care
providers – transportation agencies/services – mobility retailers –
insurance providers – AARP – providers of orthotic shoes – dentists –
hospice caregivers – retirement living centers – financial and estate
planning providers – senior information and referral agencies – pharmacies –
contractors who specialize in remodeling for persons with disabilities – and
more. All of these exhibitors
provide the information and services seniors depend upon.
Entertainment is also provided at times during the day.
